The call for a more tight security on wireless technology is getting stronger. Despite the drastic measures observed by mobile phone operators to keep their customer secure, they should upgrade from time to time. Security researchers have released tools that they say; make it easy to see what security systems operators use to stop eavesdropping or others listening to conversations.

Dr. Karsten Nohl heads this project in order to expose mobile phone operators who have not updated their security system that protects their customers. Since most calls are protected by encryption with huge number of keys it is almost impossible to eavesdrop. As a challenge to mobile phone operators Dr. Nohl have found a way to break the algorithms in minutes-which accordingly algorithms can be broken in 100,000 years. If the operators have installed appropriate software operators can avoid the attack.

Dr. Nohls project does not threaten the mobile phone operators instead he wants to challenge them simply because Mobile technology has been the mainstream of cultures. Going back when GSM was still commonly use, no one has ever thought that its encryption would be broken in fact that was a laughing matter which now came into reality. Customers have the right to make their conversations confidential and it is the responsibility of mobile phone operators to protect it.

At last one test agency Stiftung Warentest has released their test results for the iPhone 4 antenna problem. By the way this agency is an authority on consumer product testing in Germany and they have courageously proved that iPhone 4 really has a problem on antenna performance.

With the complaints from consumers around the world that they experience sudden drop calls when holding their iPhone 4 on the bottom corners, Stifttung Warentest found out that when the antenna gap in the bottom left corner is covered by a finger, the signal will immediately drop 90%. So no wonder drop calls are common especially in areas where there is weaker signal. The same situation happens for internet browsing when fingers are position in the soft spot.

The agency has also tested other smartphones all of which were accused by Apple that also looses signal. Accusation of Apple confirmed that these Smartphones looses signal by up to 25% only, this reception is still strong enough to prevent drop calls.

Samsung is having a second go at it with their Android-powered Samsung I8520 Galaxy Beam, which is going on sale in Singapore starting next Saturday (their first attempt was the Samsung i7410).
The obvious main attraction of the Samsung I8520 Galaxy Beam is the pico-projector with WVGA resolution. The device is able to project images between 5 and 50 inches in size.
But the rest of the Samsung Galaxy Beam is quite enticing too – 3.7″ WVGA SuperAMOLED touch screen, Android 2.1 with TouchWiz 3.0 running on a 800MHz CPU and a 8MP camera with 720p video capture (the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S has only a 5MP camera).
The first carrier to offer the Samsung I8520 Galaxy Beam will be StarHub. They will show off the phone in some stores starting tomorrow but you’ll have to wait until July 17 to actually be able to purchase. The price starts from 398 Singapore dollars (which works out to 228 euro or 288 US dollars), depending on the contract of course.

That’s right, the iPhone 4 is now officially real, no more doubts the real thing is here. According to the press release made by Apple the “iPhone 4 in so many ways, it’s a first”.

The most striking feature of the iPhone 4 is that it had incorporated the video calling while at the same time enhanced this features. With just the tap of the screen you can switch the camera focus either on the front or at the back of the phone. Unlike other phone which only uses the 3G network connectivity the iPhone 4 uses the Wi-Fi connectivity to video call.

There is also a feature known as Retina Display which was developed with pixels of 78 micrometers wide, so it has four times the number of pixel as compared to the earlier iPhone models.

iPhone now has a multi tasking feature, one can now run some third party apps all at the same time and it can be switched instantly without slowing down the performance of the foreground app.

This phone also provides HD video recording and editing. For more information about the iPhone 4 log on to their website at http://www.apple.com/iphone/

Internet Explorer is losing the market, but it still dominates as the Web Browser leader. According to BBC Internet Explorer is losing the battle in web browser market with a downward trend compared to its closest rival the Mozilla Firefox. Latest statistics, from measurement firm NetApplications, show that IE has 59.9% of the market, with Firefox gaining on it, with 24.5%. While third-place Google Chrome’s 6.7% share of the market looks tiny by comparison it is rising sharply, up from just 1.7% this time last year. Microsoft has gradually been losing market share, largely due to concerns over security, experts said.

Just like what I have said, its user interface resembles that of Windows Phone 7, where it will be equipped with an alleged 26-core CPU (impossible!), a 3.5″ touchscreen display at 800 × 480 resolution, 512MB RAM (how paltry), 4GB ROM, a microSD memory card slot, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and Ouidoo OS. It will hit China via China Mobile, roaming on the TD-SCDMA sometime this July for no more than $588 after conversion. Folks outside of China who are curious will be able to have a gander at it sometime later via WCDMA and CDMA2000 versions.

Today, Nokia announced the Nokia X5 and C5 models with TD-SCDMA (Chinese 3G). The X5 is midway between the X6 and the X3, and the Nokia C5 model has been updated as well.

The Nokia X5 will also feature mobile navigation (so, presumably, there will be a built-in GPS too) and Fetion IM. It will come in black, white and red some time in the second quarter of 2010. Unfortunately Nokia spared themselves the effort of publishing photos of the device.

The Nokia C5 keeps the stainless steel design of the euro C5 but increases the screen size to 2.4″ (QVGA resolution is maintained though). Making the switch to TD-SCDMA has also brought another update – the camera has been bumped up to 5 megapixels (up from 3MP). The C5 will work with MM-Ovi Store and Fetion and it will come with 139 mailbox preloaded.

The Nokia X5 is Nokia’s first Symbian phone for TD-SCDMA. It packs a 5MP camera with dual-LED flash, dedicated music keys and a 2.4″ QVGA TFT screen. The Nokia X5 will have access to the MM-Ovi store (a joint operation between Nokia and China Mobile) and the China Mobile music store.

The Nokia C5 will be available in silver or black in the third quarter of 2010. Both the Nokia C5 and X5 will be available on China Mobile.

The latest buzz around town is the appearance of iPhone 4G during an iPad launch. Okay to tell you straight, Apple has not yet confirmed the date of when the 4th Generation of iPhone will be released. But some tech people are making a pressure to Apple so that they (Apple) could somehow give a preview of the iPhone 4G or HD. The photo below is taken by person who just want to get a closer look of the iPad, but it seems he got an image of an edgy iPhone. This was the start of the talk. With this development who wouldn’t be curious right? If the rumours are true, then the design off this new iPhone is different from the original one.

There are some hardware specs that have been “confirmed”. First off, a higher-resolution screen due to HD upgrade 640 x 960 has been mentioned as the resolution (twice the number of pixels on each side compared to the current iPhones).

Next is the better camera with flash, MicroSIM card slot (like in the iPad), and the number 80GB has been floating around for the internal memory. Flash memory comes in powers of 2 so, 80GB sounds pretty unlikely but it could be a 64GB + 16GB combo.

According to users the interface of the app is busy at first, but you tapped the apps button like the Live and the On Demand with ease. It can run on a Wi-Fi and 3G networks clearly as long as there is high signal for clearer and better reception.

MobiTV is free, but the in-apps need subscription: $9.99 for one month, $24.99 for three months and $44.99 for six months costly, but more practical than your cable subscription. Unfortunately this app is still unavailable to iPod and even the iPad.
